It has been a very full week. All week long I’ve been trying to get to the many things I thought I was supposed to be doing–writing articles, some final book revisions before the last edit, creating a new product. Yet instead it was a week full of appointments and teaching and taking care of things that kept coming up. I’m sure you know how that is.
At first I was getting frustrated because I couldn’t seem to get to what I thought I was supposed to be doing. But then I was reminded about soul mission and realized that my “assignment” isn’t to get all of those things done–my assignment is to live my soul mission. When I remembered that, I realized that I had been living my soul mission all week long in all of those things that had been taking my time. So in the most important way, I was living my soul mission all along. I was doing exactly what I was supposed to be doing. It just wasn’t in the form I had thought it should be.
So note to self: my job is to live my soul mission. The articles will get written, the book revisions will get done in time, the new product will come in its time. In the meantime, opportunities will keep showing up for living my soul mission. Take advantage of them. Some of those opportunities I will know about ahead of time, others will be surprises. That doesn’t matter. What matters is living my soul mission.
Some fantastic things happened this week. If I had focused only on doing those things I thought I needed to get done, I would have missed some amazing opportunities. Or I wouldn’t have received the full benefit of them because I was focused on something else.
It’s been a good week. I’m so glad I remembered why I’m here.
